- Arctic cold front crosses area between 5-7 A.M. Friday morning (12-23-22)
—-> potential flash freeze leading to icy road conditions.

- Brief burst of snow as the front crosses, mainly across the higher elevations. 1-3 inches of snow are expected across the higher elevations. Coating to an inch in lower elevations to the east.

- Strong winds behind the front into Saturday morning (12-24-22). Wind gusts of up to 60-70 mph are expected along the Allegheny Front and the ridge tops. Wind gusts of 45-55 mph are expected in lower elevations. The winds combined with the snow and wet ground may lead to widespread tree damage and power outages. Near blizzard conditions are possible along the ridge tops and the higher elevations

- Frigid wind chills are expected into Saturday morning with frostbite to exposed skin in as little as 5-10 minutes. Take precautions to stay warm!

- Check on your friends and family during the cold, especially those vulnerable such as children and the elderly. Don’t forget about your outside pets!

- Make precautions for a power outage. Keep electronics charged. Have blankets, batteries, and flashlights.
